AZ Technology also has the facilities, expertise and experience to design and produce instruments for customers. Below are three specific examples of custom instruments that AZ Technology has designed and produced. Many of these instruments were developed with NASA as described in the most recent 2009 NASA Spinoff Report.

Custom Instruments:
-PLS 100:

Portable Laser Scatterometer (PLS) measures specular, diffuse, and retroflectance to determine total integrated scatter and surface RMS. True total hemispheric reflectance is also determined.

- LPIR FT: Laboratory Portable Infrared Reflectometer (LPIR) measures spectral IR total hemispherical reflectance, 2.5 to 25 microns (most surfaces). Integration of reflectance is used to calculate and display emittance. Also available in a vacuum chamber compatible version, LPIR FT V.

- SEETS: Combined Simulated Space Environment Testing System (SEET) measures total spectral hemispherical reflectance and solar alpha in simulated vacuum space environment (up to 12 samples at once), 250 to 2800nm
