AZ Technology has been in the business of developing specialized paints, coatings and materials for 18 years. Our staff has experience with paint and coatings for space applications, having developed and applied paints for satellites, spacecraft, the International Space Station, as well as specialized paints and coatings for terrestrial applications like large storage tanks, solar panels and observatories. To develop such coatings requires the ability to accurately test their properties. AZ Technology has developed and market a line of highly accurate portable laboratory instruments for measuring optical properties (reflectivity, absorptivity, emissivity) on a wide range of surfaces and materials. These can be performed for space applications as well as terrestrial applications such as obtaining the Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) toward LEED certification. Development of such specialized paints, coatings and materials and instruments to measure their properties has necessarily required laboratory expertise in the measurement and testing of the properties of coated and uncoated surfaces. We offer this expertise in measurement and testing services to our customers. This includes measuring optical properties on a wide range of surfaces and materials; measurements within a ultra-high vacuum chamber designed at AZ Technology including the effects of exposure to ultra violet (UV) and vacuum UV; and a variety of tests for physical characterization of coatings.
